This is the third release on this Australian label and the second full-length album from this duo, featuring an ex-member of IDEAS BEYOND FILTH and DIETER-MÜH. These 2009 ZILVERHILL recordings are informed by both the art of August NATTERER and Lewis CARROL's "Looking glass". NIXON's PORTENTOUS voice & actions are intuitively fractured, reappraised and manipulated to form the spine of the pieces: the desolation of drunkenness & schizophrenia, cold sarcasm and distant/past/fleeting recollections provide the flesh. Musically, "Latent-Active-Descent" offers a mix of Dark ambient soundscapes, experimental & ethnic sounds, natural samples, processed sampled-voices and some vocals, in the "old" good experimental / ambient tradition, adventurous, rough and dark at the same time. A very nice album, recommended to all those who enjoy the droning ambient ! In nicely designed digipack with full-colour postcard 10 tracks / Total length: 59'47.
